VITERBO: SANTA ROSA

Every year, on the 3rd of September, Viterbo celebrates the festival of Santa Rosa: 100 men dressed in white with red sashes around their waists, called “Facchini”, carry the “Macchina di Santa Rosa” on their shoulders through the streets of the city. This “Macchina” is a very tall and impressive tower illuminated by hundreds of torches and lights.
